Bill intended to stop under-ride truck crash deaths

Because of their smaller size, a car and its occupants lose in a crash with a larger truck. The results are particularly deadly in an under-side crash when a car sides under a truck's body. Bi-partisan legislation was recently introduced in the U.S. Senate to help prevent these truck accidents.

Truck crash deaths rose last year

Ohio accidents involving large truck may be particularly deadly, especially for occupants of smaller passenger vehicles. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's report on vehicles crashes for 2016, accordingly, is alarming. The NHTSA found that fatalities from truck accidents rose in 2016.

Do not underestimate the dangers of trucks on the roads

There are hundreds, if not thousands, of things we all take for granted every day. Many of these things are relatively harmless, others less so, but until we experience or hear about the potential dangers around the things we take for granted, they often never even enter our minds. Take trucks, for example.

Strict rules for truck drivers prohibiting impaired driving

There are many rules that drivers must follow in Ohio. These rules include rules governing where drivers must be on the road, when they can make turns, when they must stop, the speed of the vehicle and many others. There are also rules to ensure the drivers of the vehicles are not distracted or impaired while driving. This generally means that their blood alcohol concentration is below a certain amount, but does not mean that they cannot consume any alcohol before driving.

Required truck driver vehicle inspection reports

For machines in Ohio to work properly, the parts must be working properly. When a part wears down or breaks, the machine will not work properly. In many instances, this just means that the person will not be able to use it until it is fixed or until they get a new machine. However, certain machines are dangerous when they break and people can be injured as a result. One of these types of machines is commercial trucks.
