Summer months are motorcycle season

It is the middle of summer and throughout the country our readers may see an increase in the number of motorcycles on the roads. Motorcycle enthusiasts often take advantage of the warm weather to hit the roads.

While motorcycle riding can undoubtedly be thrilling, it does pose some unique dangers to riders while on the roads. Because motorcycles are less common, drivers of traditional cars and trucks are less mindful of sharing the roads with them. In addition, they are significantly smaller than cars, so they can be harder to notice on the road. When an accident does occur, motorcyclists are far more likely to suffer serious, catastrophic or even deadly injuries.

Unlike cars, which have various safety features in place including seat belts, air bags and even the car itself acting as a shell to protect drivers and passengers, motorcycle riders are especially vulnerable when involved in an accident. Not only will they have an impact with other vehicles involved in the accident, but they may wind up on the road or even be thrown off their bike at a high rate of speed into one the countless objects near the road, like trees or guardrails.

If you have lost a loved one due to a fatal accident on the roads, whether it was a car, truck or motorcycle accident, your family may want to consider filing a wrongful death claim. Depending on the circumstances of the case, if it can be proven that another driver was guilty of negligence you may be entitled to compensation.
